Bring along your passion and do your life's best work. The Account Manager Client Service is responsible for key strategic client relationships by ensuring overall client satisfaction, retention, account growth and profitability.
This position ensures client and Optum compliance with all contractual agreements, deliverables and timelines.
Account Manager Client Service act as the ultimate advocate for clients within Optum. Manages ongoing contract relationships and service delivery to clients for one or more accounts.
Acts as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts.
Builds relationships with employer/group clients (not individual members) and serves as the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery.
Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs.
This function includes employees who are in dedicated on-site service roles.
Jobs in this function may work closely with sales on renewals and upselling, but incumbents do not have specific sales goal accountability or primary responsibility to close sales.
Account management jobs focused primarily on relationship and service management belong in this family; jobs with significant sales responsibilities or sales-related incentives (including 'OTH' plans) belong in a sales band. Primary Responsibilities: Distribute promotional materials to clients to encourage program participation Maximize revenue by informing clients of Optum products and services available for purchase as add-ons to existing contracts Engage with the sales team on opportunities and RFPs Ensure contract compliance Conduct contract negotiations with client as necessary Obtain legal review of contracts as needed Ensure resulting contract is within established Optum business standards Ensure accuracy of invoicing and expenditures Provide project management services at the request of clients- Complex data analysis Ad-hoc data compilation different than datasets currently offered Collaborate with the client to adjust protocols and promotional efforts Develop/conduct educational promotion, and strategic presentations as requested by clients Create year-end or other reports as requested by clients Working with the Implementation Team to develop and execute business plans for deliverables Assigning and submitting requirement documents to appropriate functional areas Ensuring all tasks and timelines are being met or exceeded Develop and monitor the process and completion of deliverables to assure fulfillment of contractual commitments Participate in feasibility assessment, scoping, and pricing of requests and / or add-on sales Ensure that pricing, timelines and quality expectations are met and / or exceeded Work collaboratively with all levels of Optum staff to ensure the best outcome for the client Communicate price, timeline and pertinent decisions to client and negotiate final outcome Maximize revenue by informing clients of new products and services available for purchase as add-ons to existing contracts Develop and monitor revenue and utilization projections Excellent group facilitation, teamwork, organizational and computer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated commitment to a healthy lifestyle preferred Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) or High School Diploma / GED 2+ years of experience in managing client relationships, or project management, or call center supervision Experience with Microsoft Excel (with the ability to enter data into spreadsheets, sort and filter data) and Microsoft PowerPoint (with the ability to put together presentations and use clip art) Experience in Project management and in contract negotiations, budget management and customer service Local travel for meetings -some travel required to attend client meeting, health fairs, and team training Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare background preferred Careers with Optum.
